With a crew of nearly 10,000, Destiny Ascension is, in a sense, a space fortress in addition to her role as a warship intended for the flagship role from the design stage, she has all the necessities to support the Citadel Council and can be used as an emergency HQ of the intergalactic government should the Citadel be compromised. The vessel is currently under command of the asari Matriarch Lidanya, a seasoned captain and a veteran of the Krogan Rebellions. It is commonly touted to be the most powerful battleship ever constructed in the Citadel History until the introduction of the larger Ryuho-class of the Terran Federation.
